About Szczyrk

SnowFest Festival takes place in Szczyrk, Poland's coolest and most thriving mountain resort.

Szczyrk is a pioneer among Polish winter resorts, with all local ski facilities agreeing to cooperate, resulting in Poland's first common skipass. It covers ski resorts such as the 'SKRZYCZNE' (cable car) and 'Szczyrk Mountain Resort', resulting in a total of more than 30 km of ski trails of varying difficulty.

Szczyrk is also the site of huge investments in tourist infrastructure, the visible result of which are new, attractive ski trails, top-class professional snowmaking systems, new gondolas and couches, lighting systems, as well as free SKIBUS, which was launched as part of the "Leave your car in the parking lot" campaign. And all this for the comfort of ski lovers.

Szczyrk Mountain Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in Poland. Located in the Silesian Beskid on the slopes of the peaks Małe Skrzyczne 1211 m above sea level and Wierch Pośredni 1000 m above sea level, it is an excellent choice for tourists
from the Silesian and Małopolska agglomerations, as well as southern neighbors from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The resort has 23 km of varied slopes (including less than 5 km of illuminated), which means that every fan of skiing will find something for themselves here. Since the 2017 season, thanks to the cooperation with the Central Sports Center and Beskid Sport Arena, resort customers can use a common skipass for 40 km of varied trails.

Szczyrk Mountain Resort is currently after the first stage of modernization, and as of the 2017 season has a new 10-person gondola lift and two 6-person chairlifts. The resort also operates six chairlifts. A brand new snowmaking system has been built with a large reservoir with a capacity of 100,000 m3 of water on Hala Skrzyczenska, to which 230 lances and snow cannons are connected. Modifications have also been made to the ski slopes; thanks to widening and profiling, using them is now more comfortable. The heart of the resort is now a new center - SZCZYRK GONDOLA. At the lower station of the 10-person gondola there is a large multifunctional building with ticket offices, an infocenter and with equipment rental, store and storage. The resort puts at the disposal of guests a large parking lot for about 700 cars, an Apres Ski bar and a Bistro.

Skrzyczne is the highest peak in the Beskid Mountains, at 1257 meters above sea level. It rises in the northeastern part of the Silesian Beskid, in the side arm of the Barania Góra range. The distinctive silhouette of the peak makes it a recognizable place in Szczyrk, but also in the whole country, at the same time special for several reasons.

Above all, Skrzyczne is a true paradise for skiers, taking advantage of the excellent conditions for winter sports here. The slopes of Skrzyczne have more than 10 kilometers of various ski trails of the Central Sports Center - Olympic Preparation Center in Szczyrk, including the FIS homologated route. The black and red trails here are equipped with a snowmaking system. Fully comfortable use of the ski attractions is guaranteed by, among others, a modern cable car, a 4-person couch with a capacity of 2,400 people per hour, on the Jaworzyna - Skrzyczne section. Tourists and skiers can also use the railroad from the lower station to Jaworzyna.
